12. What are the laundry facilities like in basic? Will I do my own?
You'll have access to washers and dryers at your barracks. Of course there are a limited number of them, and you have to be creative of how and when to use them. Usually, you'll share a washer and/or dryer with either your battle buddy, a friend or your squad. You'll be doing laundry mostly on weekends and in the evenings. Don't bring washing powder with you, as you'll get the chance to buy these at your BT post. Most recruits will wash their underthings and PT uniforms themselves. You are highly encouraged to use Quartermaster laundry also, which costs about $100. You will most likely send your heavier items to QM, such as your uniforms. Of course you can send anything you have, but I have personally seen soldiers get someone else's underwear, etc. It's up to you really!
